Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Manager with a background in construction project management or construction coordination to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects from inception through completion, serving as the primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and field personnel. The ideal candidate brings hands-on knowledge of construction workflows, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination, combined with the communication skills and self-discipline required to excel in a fully remote environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

•     Manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring milestones, budgets, and timelines are met

•     Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting plans as conditions change

•     Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on project goals and deliverables

•     Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work

•     Maintain organized project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily logs

 

Budget & Cost Management

•     Monitor project budgets and track costs against original estimates throughout the project lifecycle

•     Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices, pay applications, and change order requests

•     Identify potential cost risks early and communicate proactively with leadership and clients

•     Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reporting

 

Scheduling & Coordination

•     Build and maintain project schedules using construction management software such as Procore, MS Project, Buildertrend, or similar tools

•     Coordinate subcontractor and supplier schedules to prevent conflicts and minimize delays

•     Conduct regular virtual project meetings and site check-ins to monitor progress and resolve issues

•     Manage procurement timelines for materials and equipment to support project milestones

 

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

•     Issue and manage subcontract agreements, scopes of work, and purchase orders

•     Ensure subcontractors meet safety, quality, schedule, and documentation requirements

•     Resolve field issues, conflicts, and disputes in a timely and professional manner

•     Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners

 

Client & Stakeholder Communication

•     Serve as the primary client-facing contact, providing regular project updates and managing expectations

•     Prepare and present project status reports, budget summaries, and schedule updates

•     Facilitate productive communication between all project stakeholders in a remote setting

•     Identify and escalate risks, conflicts, or scope changes promptly

 

Documentation & Compliance

•     Maintain complete and accurate project files including contracts, drawings, permits, and correspondence

•     Ensure all required permits, inspections, and regulatory approvals are obtained and documented

•     Support project closeout processes including punch lists, as-builts, lien waivers, and warranty documentation

•     Adhere to company standards for document control and project reporting

 

Qualifications

Required

•     2 to 7 years of experience in construction project management or construction coordination

•     Solid working knowledge of construction processes, trades, scheduling, and contract administration

•     Proficiency with construction or project management software

 

•     Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

•     Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading virtual meetings and managing remote relationships

•     Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

•     Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Preferred

•     Experience across multiple project types including commercial, residential, healthcare, or industrial construction

•     Experience with estimating or cost management software such as Sage, Bluebeam, or similar (nice to have)
