Protocol Backend Engineer - Stablecoin Platform

Location: Remote - Preference for US but would consider Europe if candidates can work on a slight overlap with EST working hours

Compensation: $180K - $250K

We are a pioneering stablecoin platform that provides developers with a superior digital-dollar building block ($\$M$) to extend and create customized stablecoins in minutes. Our platform empowers businesses to monetize their digital dollar use cases while maintaining control over their money tech stack. We are seeking an experienced Protocol Backend Engineer to join our growing team and enhance our stablecoin ecosystem and core projects.

You will be instrumental in designing and deploying high-availability, secure solutions for on-chain finance and cross-chain liquidity management. This role requires strong engineering leadership, technical mastery of backend systems, and an understanding of decentralized financial logic. You will also mentor mid-level engineers and drive a culture of excellence and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Protocol Development: Design and develop automated on-chain minting and cross-chain stablecoin liquidity management solutions.
• Deployment & Reliability: Deploy modern web applications using best practices to ensure security, compliance, and high availability, implementing monitoring and alerting systems to deliver high-uptime, low-latency user experiences.
• Engineering Excellence: Promote engineering excellence and agile practices, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing, working closely with finance experts, blockchain specialists, and designers.

Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Rust.
• Backend Mastery: Advanced backend experience with a proven history of building scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Cloud & DevOps: Practical experience deploying and managing applications across multi-region cloud platforms, proficient with CI/CD processes and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Blockchain Foundation: Basic understanding of smart contract development for EVM-compatible chains (and optionally for non-EVM chains such as Solana, Sui).
• DeFi Expertise: Direct experience with DeFi applications (lending, derivatives, AMMs, stablecoins), with the ability to design and implement complex on-chain financial logic.
• Attributes: High level of autonomy, a proactive problem-solver mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Haves):

• Prior experience with the Fireblocks API.
