Job Description

We are seeking a versatile Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our Asset Management Engineering department. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling production applications across the entire stack, ensuring our platform remains robust, performant, and user-centric.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Rails developer who isn't afraid to dive into Go for performance-critical tasks or craft sleek front-end experiences with React.

Core Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain production-grade features using Ruby on Rails across all layers of the stack.
  • Systems Integration: Design and implement seamless integrations with various third-party APIs.
  • Database Optimization: Manage relational databases (PostgreSQL), focusing on schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive automated tests using Capybara and Playwright to ensure high-quality deployments.
  • Collaborative Design: Participate in domain modeling, application architecture discussions, and the refinement of team development practices.

Requirements

The Must-Haves

  • Ruby on Rails: 3+ years of experience in production environments.
  • Go: 1+ year of professional experience.
  • Frontend: 1+ year of experience with React and either JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Databases: Strong proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including a solid understanding of indices and query optimization.
  • Testing: Demonstrated experience with automated testing frameworks.
  • API Integration: Proven track record of integrating with external web APIs.

The Nice-to-Haves

  • Asynchronous Processing: Experience with Sidekiq or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • API Design: Familiarity with GraphQL.
  • UI Frameworks: Experience with Mantine.
  • Architectural Patterns: Knowledge of Clean Architecture.
