Why? Because if we don’t collectively work towards sustainable development then climate change, social exclusion, and public health become very real and scary for future generations. 

For centuries, businesses have operated the same. Financials first, everything else later. But things have changed. Customers and companies want to buy from purpose-driven brands, employees want to work for them and shareholders want to invest in them. Companies today want to do more good for society and the environment but don’t know how. That’s why we built Futureproof.

2) What we do

Futureproof helps businesses manage, improve, and report their social and environmental sustainability. We blend smart technology with outstanding customer service into a unique proposition that helps businesses improve what they do for people (social), our planet (environment), and stakeholders (governance).

From starting with no outside funding (not even a business loan), we’ve now helped hundreds of companies become more sustainable – from fast-growing start-ups, household brands and large corporations. But we’re only getting started. Success for us is when sustainability is the norm. Success is when every company uses sustainability software just as they do accounting.

On top of the work we're doing with Futureproof, we're now building Ella - the The World’s Best Sustainability Agent. Ella is going to completely change how companies do Sustainability and ESG, and we're excited to bring this to the world.

3) What you’ll be doing:

As a Marketing Manager (and Employee Number 6), you’ll be responsible for creating, launching and iterating marketing strategies and content that drive brand growth, engagement and awareness. 

Content & Brand Marketing

  • 📆 Own & maintain our content calendar – Keep marketing efforts organised and consistent.
  • 🎥 Create engaging video content – LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram - testing what works.
  • 📝 Write & publish great content – Blogs, customer success stories/quotes, media packs, sales content, social posts, you name it.
  • 📩 Own our newsletter – Keep customers & leads engaged with value-driven updates.
  • 🖋️ Keep our brand voice sharp – Ensure consistent messaging and positioning in all copy across our channels.
  • 🎙️ Help run customer podcasts & webinars – Position us as the go-to sustainability platform for our audience to learn from.
  • 🌟 Build your own brand in sustainability – Grow through your content, speaking, and social media.

Growth & Performance Marketing

  • 📊 Track & optimise marketing performance – Analysing and reporting on our marketing KPIs and continually iterating based on data.
  • 🚀 Test & launch new ideas – Create new campaigns, lead funnels, and experiments you believe will get us results.
  • 📩 Create nurture sequences for inbound leads – Keep every lead engaged throughout the buyer journey.
  • 🤝 Partner & Affiliate Marketing – Explore other acquisition channels beyond content and paid ads.

We’re a small but mighty team so you’ll be working closely with everyone to ensure our marketing efforts are in sync with everything we do as a business. 

Requirements

4) Who we're looking for:

  • 2-5 years of experience in marketing, growth, or content – ideally for a tech company.
  • Audience-driven – You understand what makes people engage, share, and follow.
  • Social & content-first mindset – You love writing, storytelling, and creating standout content for others to see.
  • Sustainability-oriented – Passionate about the topic and shaping the future of its content.
  • Creative & resourceful – You turn ideas into great content across multiple formats.
  • Tech-savvy & AI-driven – You use AI tools to enhance content, automation, and marketing.
  • Data-driven – You track what works, analyse metrics, and optimise for impact.
  • Organised & efficient – You manage multiple projects and keep content flowing.
  • Confident & engaging – Whether on video, writing, or in-person, you connect with people.
  • Growth-minded – You love testing marketing ideas and iterating on what works.
  • Self-starter – You take initiative, move fast, and get things done without waiting.
  • Mission-driven – You’re deeply connected to our mission of making sustainability easy and accessible for every business.

Nice to have (but not essential)

  • Startup experience – You’ve worked in a fast-growing startup or scaleup.
  • Sustainability knowledge – Familiarity with ESG, Carbon reporting, Certifications, B Corp or similar.
  • Remote/hybrid experience – Comfortable working independently in a remote team.

Benefits

💰 Salary: £30-40K
📍 Location: Remote (Must be on GMT timezone +1 or - 1 hour)
