Core Focus

As our Head of Finance, you'll be the architect of Mainhedge's financial strategy and structure. Think of this role as building the financial foundation that enables our ambitious growth while ensuring we scale sustainably and efficiently. You'll work closely with leadership to translate our vision into actionable financial plans and metrics, ensuring we make strategic decisions based on solid financial analysis.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Planning - You'll own our financial strategy development and execution. This means creating comprehensive financial models that support our growth, analyzing new opportunities, and ensuring our resource allocation aligns with our strategic priorities. You'll build frameworks for evaluating initiatives across different markets and help leadership make data-driven decisions about where and how we grow.
   
2. Financial Management and Control - You'll establish the processes and controls that keep our business financially healthy. This includes developing budgeting systems, implementing financial policies, and ensuring we maintain strong financial discipline as we scale. You'll create frameworks for managing departmental budgets and tracking performance against financial targets.
   
3. Business Performance and Analytics - You'll develop the metrics and analysis frameworks that help us understand our business performance deeply. This includes creating comprehensive KPIs, analyzing unit economics across different services, and providing insights that drive business optimization. You'll build the systems that help us measure and improve our financial efficiency across all operations.
   
4. Team Leadership You'll build and lead our finance function, including managing our Financial Controller and developing our finance team. This means creating clear career paths, developing team capabilities, and fostering a culture of excellence in financial management. You'll ensure we have the right people and skills to support our growth.
   
5. Treasury Management – You'll optimize returns on cash holdings while maintaining operational liquidity, develop secure strategies for managing crypto holdings, and mitigate currency exposure through hedging solutions. You'll stay ahead of financial regulations to ensure compliance across markets and identify opportunities for risk-adjusted returns through FX trading and digital asset investments, safeguarding the financial stability of our cross-border payments business.

A Day in Your Role

You might start your day reviewing our latest financial metrics and liquidity position, ensuring we have optimal cash reserves across jurisdictions. Next, you meet with the Financial Controller to discuss month-end closing and assess any treasury-related exposures. By midday, you're collaborating with department heads on budget planning or analyzing the unit economics of a new market opportunity. Your afternoon could involve reviewing hedging strategies to mitigate currency risks, evaluating investment opportunities for idle cash, or aligning with leadership on financial models for growth initiatives. Throughout the day, you're balancing immediate financial needs, treasury operations, and long-term strategic planning to ensure financial stability and growth.

Requirements

You've spent significant time (8+ years) in strategic finance roles, ideally in high-growth technology companies. Your experience likely includes:

• Strategic financial planning and analysis
• Building and leading finance teams
• Managing rapid growth and scale
• Business performance analysis and optimization
• Creating financial models and frameworks
• If you’ve started a company before or was part of a founding team, even better.
