About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to build the core automation engine and data platform powering next-generation AI systems.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you'll architect scalable backend services, build production-grade data pipelines, develop AI infrastructure, and own complex distributed systems from design through production.

What You'll Do

Backend Engineering;

• Design and build scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js
• Develop production-ready APIs and distributed systems
• Build automation platforms that improve complex business workflows
• Architect reliable, scalable backend infrastructure

Data Platforms;

• Build robust data pipelines integrating third-party APIs and external data sources
• Design scalable relational database schemas and data models
• Ensure data integrity, monitoring, validation, and observability
• Develop infrastructure supporting business intelligence and AI applications

AI Infrastructure;

• Build systems supporting AI agents and intelligent automation
• Develop scalable execution environments for AI-powered workflows
• Create secure, traceable, and reliable automation platforms
• Contribute to next-generation knowledge management systems

Technical Leadership;

• Lead projects from architecture through production deployment
• Drive engineering best practices and technical excellence
• Identify technical risks early and deliver incrementally
• Collaborate across engineering and product teams to solve complex problems

What We're Looking For

Must Have;

• 5+ years building production backend or server-side systems
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js expertise
• Experience with Python, Go, Rust, or Java
• Advanced SQL and relational database design
• Experience building production data pipelines
• Experience integrating third-party APIs
• Strong distributed systems knowledge
• Excellent system design and architecture skills
• High ownership and execution mindset
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives

Nice to Have;

• AI infrastructure or LLM experience
• Blockchain or distributed ledger experience
• Experience with Notion, Supabase, or similar platforms
• Event-driven architectures
• Open-source contributions
• PostgreSQL expertise
• Observability and monitoring platforms
• Startup or high-growth company experience
