Job Description

We’re building the next generation of TN Trader — a proprietary, React-based trading platform designed for the needs of global CFD and spread betting traders. As our Trading Product Designer, you will own the design of our most complex and technically demanding product surface: the trading interface itself.

This is not a generalist design role. You will be embedded within the Trading UIs and Execution vertical, working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and front-end engineers to design trade tickets, charting interfaces, order management systems, and the full range of real-time financial UI that traders depend on every day. You will be expected to understand the domain deeply — financial instruments, order types, execution flows, risk displays — and translate that complexity into clean, precise, and highly usable interfaces across different devices.

You will work within a shared Figma design system, upholding and extending it with the same care and rigour you bring to your own output. You’re the kind of designer who finds satisfaction in a perfectly crafted component, a flawless handoff, and a build that matches the design intent pixel for pixel.

This role is remote, with required occasional travel to London.

Who we are

Trade Nation is a global CFD and spread betting broker. We help traders make better decisions through clear market insights, transparent pricing and a fairer approach to trading.

Since 2014, we’ve grown into a market-leading, low-cost broker with our headquarters in London and offices across Europe, South Africa, Asia-Pacific, and key offshore regions including the Caribbean and Indian Ocean. Our platform is available in 14 languages, making it accessible to traders worldwide.

Built on transparency and trust, and driven by our people, our focus is simple: helping customers trade more effectively. We do that by keeping costs low, cutting unnecessary complexity and using technology to put traders first.

Responsibilities

  • Own the brief-to-delivery pipeline: receive briefs from business stakeholders, resolve ambiguity proactively, and confirm deliverables, format and success criteria before a single pixel is placed.
  • Deliver high-quality UI to specification and on agreed timelines, communicating schedule risks immediately and transparently.
  • Work with fastidious attention to detail within our Figma design system, adhering to strict tokens & variables, design rules and naming conventions.
  • Create, maintain and extend reusable components using atomic design principles, keeping the system clean, consistent and scalable.
  • Partner closely with front-end developers to produce developer-ready handoffs — covering interaction states, edge cases and responsive behaviour — and participate in QA to ensure implementation matches design intent.
  • Proactively identify gaps and inconsistencies in the design system and propose well-considered resolutions.
  • Self-review and lead design crits for your work before submission, and iterate with pace and a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering production-ready UI reliably, to brief and on time.
  • Deep proficiency in Figma, including design systems, components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping and developer handoff.
  • Strong working knowledge of atomic design methodology.
  • Experience designing and launching app and web-based financial products.
  • Experience working with remote development teams and producing spec-quality handoffs.
  • A track record of embedding customer feedback, analytics (HotJar, Amplitude) and competitor insight into design thinking.
  • Experience validating and refining through A/B testing and prototyping.
  • A genuine love of designing simplicity — no matter how complex or regulated the product.

Preferred requirements

  • Experience designing trading platforms or other tightly regulated financial products.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS sufficient to communicate accurately with developers.
  • Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design tooling, such as Figma Make or Claude.
