Job Description

Booksy is a global appointment-booking and business management platform for beauty professionals, connecting service providers with customers and empowering them with tools to run their businesses efficiently. As we continue to scale our technology and impact, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our talented engineering team in Poland. This role is pivotal in shaping our technical direction, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving the delivery of robust, scalable solutions that power our marketplace.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and guide engineering team members, fostering growth and collaboration across backend, frontend, and mobile disciplines.
  • Manage team dynamics and build a cohesive, high-performing team environment.
  • Contribute to software architecture and systems design decisions, with a focus on microservices-based systems.
  • Apply agile and lean delivery practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) using project management tools to optimize team performance.
  • Analyze metrics and leverage data-driven insights to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  • Promote a DevOps mindset, implementing practices such as test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD, and observability to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Design stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Engineering Manager
  • Hands-on software development experience in a production environment using a leading programming language
  • Experience leading engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile disciplines
  • Experience contributing to software architecture and systems design for microservices-based systems
  • Experience applying Agile or Lean delivery practices such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience implementing DevOps engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation (e.g., TDD), and observability
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product and Design stakeholders
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Legal right to work in Poland without visa sponsorship or work permit support
  • Currently based in Poland
  • Available to work with core hours aligned to Poland/CET time zone

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a team with 6 or more direct reports
  • Production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Production experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
  • Production experience with Python
  • Experience working on a marketplace or platform product (B2B, B2C, or B2B2C)
