Job Role: dotCMS Content Manager and Front-end Developer

Full Time: Independent Contractor

Salary Budget: Part-time: $1,750 AUD to Full-time: $3,500 AUD

Work Schedule: This is a part-time role at 20 hours per week, expected to transition to full-time after 3 months. Availability during AU business hours (approx. 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday to Friday) is preferred for collaboration, with flexibility in how you manage your time as a contractor.

Who The Client Is: A biotech startup dedicated to enhancing quality of life through personalized health solutions. With strong backgrounds in biochemistry and molecular biology, the founders recognised the power of nutrition in improving health outcomes and the importance of tailoring strategies to individual needs.

The company was founded to address the challenges individuals face in accessing and interpreting health data. By combining cutting-edge microbiome and metabolic testing with personalized analysis and supplement delivery, science-backed at-home tests and subscription programs that are convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Role Overview: We’re looking for a dotCMS Content Manager & Front-End Developer to manage and build pages within our existing headless CMS environment. This role is primarily focused on content and page creation using existing components, with the opportunity to contribute to the improvement and augmentation of existing components and develop entirely new components and front-end user experience once your capability has been confidently established. You’ll play a key role in improving customer journeys, optimising conversions, and supporting campaign and landing page builds in conjunction with the marketing, design and content team and our developer dotCMS and Google full stack partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage pages within dotCMS using existing components
  • Create and update content pages aligned with brand and campaign goals
  • Develop and optimise landing pages for campaigns and conversions
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams on page structure and user flow
  • Support customer journey improvements and conversion optimization initiatives
  • Work within a headless CMS setup integrated with Next.js
  • Contribute to front-end development where needed (Once capability has been established)

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with dotCMS (page building and content management)
  • Experience working in a headless CMS environment
  • Working knowledge of React and Next.js
  • Ability to understand component-based architecture
  • Familiarity with Tailwind or modern CSS frameworks
  • Confidence working with props-driven components from an API data source
  • Experience with headless CMS design patterns (API-driven content, structured content)
  • Awareness of how CMS content maps to frontend components
  • Basic debugging skills (reading console errors, understanding when something is a CMS vs frontend issue)
  • Strong understanding of UX, customer flows, and conversion optimization
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured components

Git + Workflow: As this project works within a shared repo with the engineering team, candidates must have:

  • Experience with Git version control (branching, commits, pull requests)
  • Basic understanding of PR reviews and UAT flow
  • Environment awareness — difference between staging and production flows, push publishing
  • Understanding of how environments connect to the CMS

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with campaign or landing page builds
  • Exposure to performance marketing environments
