Job Description

Account Director (Retention Marketing – Klaviyo Expert)

Remote | Full-Time | Competitive Pay + Bonus

Redwood is a retention-first email agency partnering with fast-moving 8 - 9 figure DTC brands. We’re looking for a senior Account Director to lead customer lifecycle strategy across multiple client accounts.

This is a strategic leadership role. You should have experience working with large brands, know what great lifecycle marketing looks like, and be able to guide both planning and execution from end to end, on enterprise level builds.

What You’ll Do

  • Own retention strategy a range of high-growth DTC brands
  • Strategize, build and optimize full lifecycle systems
  • Lead client strategy calls and oversee all retention performance
  • Guide internal teams on execution and campaign production
  • Spot gaps, bring ideas, and push the work forward

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in retention or lifecycle marketing
  • Real experience with larger or complex brands
  • Deep Klaviyo expertise, beyond the standard sets of plug-and-play flows
  • Experience with enterprise retention and marketing automations
  • Strong strategic thinking and client leadership skills

Bonus If:

  • You’ve worked in an agency or across multiple accounts

Why Redwood

  • Smart team, strong clients, no fluff
  • Real ownership, fast pace, full support
  • Remote Friendly
  • Real room to grow, on a fast timeline

Who This Is Not For

This isn’t the right role if your experience is limited to:

  • Running retention for small brands only (<$1m a month ecom)
  • Installing standard pre-built flows without deeper structural or strategic thinking
  • Knowing your way around Klaviyo, but not being able to go toe-to-toe on details with experts in the space
  • Working on a few accounts with light involvement, without full ownership

We’re looking for someone who has led retention programs from the inside—who's been in the room, shaped the plan, and seen it through.
