At JumpCloud, data is the heartbeat of our SaaS platform - making our goals happen effectively, securely and in ways that reshape how software is purchased, scaled and managed, often with no human intervention needed. To meet these challenges, JumpCloud is in search of an experienced, execution-driven, Senior Director of IT, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Systems to lead and scale our internal business technology and data infrastructure. This leader will be the central architect of JumpCloud's operational backbone, ensuring our systems and data strategy are scalable, efficient, and aligned with our hyper-growth trajectory.
Reporting to the Chief Business Officer, this role will leverage their significant experience in business operations, software engineering, vendor management and integration and exceptional team building to generate an execution machine. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of business operations and processes along with SaaS product development and integration needs in order to create a technology strategy that underpins JumpCloud’s data products, PLG, SLP and Partner sales motions, customer lifecycle and G&A motions.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business operations, software engineering, and data architecture, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing, globally distributed teams. You will be a hands-on, strategic partner to all functions of the business, from Finance and HR to Sales and Marketing, ensuring our technology landscape provides a single source of truth and fuels data-driven decision-making.
Enterprise Systems:
Operate our Enterprise Systems team as a central hub of the organization, combining the underlying custom-built and off the shelf technology we use into the company’s heartbeat.
Provide technical leadership and oversight of Enterprise & Business Systems as well as Data Engineering.
Demonstrate that integration and automation can create a highly effective customer experience, and provide lucrative operational outcomes for our business.
Drive cross-functional aggregation and management of a broad spectrum of inbound requests from various business teams including (Product, Growth, Sales and Marketing operations, Customer Support, Finance etc.)
Establish and expand processes to drive effective prioritization, cross functional alignment and interdependencies and change management of these requests.
Reduce redundancy and unnecessary, repetitive business processes
Drive development work, platforming, and consistent technical and architectural direction across projects.
Data Engineering:
Architect, build, and maintain a scalable and secure data platform (e.g., using Snowflake, AWS, etc.) that serves as the central hub for all enterprise data.
Lead the development of robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and store data from various sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
Partner with analytics and business intelligence teams to enable self-service reporting and empower data-driven decisions across the company.
Oversee the data governance framework, including master data management, metadata management, and data quality standards.
IT
Oversee all aspects of internal IT infrastructure, including network management, endpoint management, and the overall IT security posture for JumpCloud’s global workforce.
Lead the IT helpdesk and end-user support functions, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for all employees.
Champion and enforce best practices for corporate security, working in close partnership with the corporate security team to protect company data and assets.
Manage the lifecycle of all internal IT hardware and software, from procurement to decommissioning, ensuring all systems are up-to-date, secure, and cost-effective.

Drive the roadmap and strategic direction of JumpCloud’s data and enterprise systems which includes architecture, technology choice and management.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, globally distributed team of business systems administrators, data engineers, and IT professionals.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, aligned with JumpCloud's core values.
Create a culture of self-serviceability across all services and endpoints
Provide API accessibility for easier ‘customer’ (internal or external) integration of the key services being built and managed.
Integrate and collaborate with JumpCloud product and engineering leadership for roadmap planning and satisfaction of ESE requirements supporting platform goals
Drive integrated and automated processes that deliver operational excellence, are audit ready at all times, and are supported by the appropriate level of documentation and change management.
You Have:
10+ years of experience in engineering systems and technology supporting data or business functions
5+ years of experience building, scaling and managing operations and teams supporting business operations that are remotely and/or globally located.
Experience delivering complex, distributed systems into production, an established track record in developing customer-facing software, technical ability, project management skills, and great communication skills with the motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
Experience partnering with Product Management and User Experience teams to build the best customer experience.
Experience in selection and management of external contractors and integrators.
Strong vendor negotiation and budget management experience.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - you’ll be working cross functionally across the entire organization to help each other achieve their objectives
Be hands on, execution-minded and analytical with a high attention to detail and a passion and interest in driving high quality
Experience in agile planning, notably Scrum.
Experience with Netsuite, AWS, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Solupay, Snowflake, Avalara and HRIS systems like ADP, etc. is a plus
Experience in API-level engineering, automation and integration strategies.
Degree in MIS or Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience preferred but not required.
