Back End Web Developer & Solutions Support Specialist (Remote Contractor)

Job Description

As a Contract Web Developer & Solutions Support Specialist with more focus on back end duties, but you will provide expert technical support across a variety of platforms including WordPress, React, HubSpot, Laravel, Python, and cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with internal teams to implement high-quality digital experiences, support system architecture, and maintain robust web applications. This role is ideal for a highly skilled developer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building scalable, modern web solutions.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

Back-End Support

• Develop middleware APIs for data migrations and third-party integrations.
  
  
• Support the creation of custom APIs connecting to services such as LLMs, Google Workspace, Asana, and Harvest

Front-End Support

• Develop custom WordPress websites using modern frameworks like ACF and the SAGE theme, aligning with client and project requirements.
  
  
• Support the maintenance and modernization of WordPress sites, including PHP upgrades and ensuring compatibility with themes, plugins, and the WordPress core.
  
  
• Assist in building React, TypeScript, and Next.js websites for high-performance marketing and brochure sites.
  
  
• Contribute to the development of custom WordPress plugins and themes with a focus on modularity and scalability.
  
  
• Execute HubSpot development tasks including landing pages, blogs, and full websites using HubL templating.
  
  
• Provide support for e-commerce applications (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce) and Laravel-based builds.

Architecture Support

• Assist with infrastructure operations such as DNS setup, CDN configuration, and environment migrations.
  
  
• Help design and implement BigQuery datasets and views for reporting and dashboard integration.
  
  
• Support AI system development using tools like Python, LangChain, and LangGraph to enable automation and workflows.
  
  
• Contribute to data migration projects transforming legacy data for analytics and AI readiness.
  
  

Team Collaboration & Workflow Integration

• Collaborate with internal teams by providing technical implementation support and participating in code reviews when needed.
  
  
• Work alongside cross-functional teams including SEO, design, analytics, and marketing to implement productivity tools and systems.
  
  
• Support Asana dashboard creation and workflow automations under guidance from internal leads.
  
  
• Translate technical requirements into functional implementations based on provided strategies.
  
  

Technical Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience with front-end, back-end, and infrastructure development across the following:
  
  
• Proficiency in WordPress (themes, plugins, headless builds)
  
  
• Strong front-end experience: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, TypeScript
  
  
• Back-end experience with PHP, Laravel, Python, SQL
  
  
• Familiarity with HubSpot CMS and HubL
  
  
• Experience working within cloud environments (Google Cloud, AWS, WP Engine, SiteGround)
  
  
• BigQuery usage and pipeline experience
  
  
• Understanding of AI tooling such as LangChain and LangGraph
  
  
• Git version control and Docker-based development
  
  
• Familiarity with web infrastructure components: DNS, CDNs, proxies
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with design teams and applying UX/UI principles
  
  
• Technical SEO implementation knowledge
  
  
• Comfortable working in Agile workflows (Asana, JIRA)
  
  
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  
  
• Demonstrated experience on previous web or AI-integrated projects
• HubSpot Developer Certification is a plus
