Job Description
The position
We are looking for a passionate Platform Engineer to join the Jobandtalent Platform team. Your main responsibility will be to work on maintaining, improving and proposing new technologies for Jobandtalent’s platform, working closely with Development teams, Data Science team, and providing support and tooling to them, as well as other engineers in the cross-functional teams to provide best-in-class platform availability.
Responsibilities
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of Services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinementWhiteboard a fix to a scaling problem -- and then make it happenMaintain Services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system healthEnd-to-end responsibility for the Services that we own, including taking part in an On-Call rotation, practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortemsAutomate as much as humanly possible and always configure as CodeAdvocate sensible, scalable, systems design and share responsibility within the organisation in diagnosing, resolving and preventing production issues through mechanisms like automationEvolve Services by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocityContribute to our Internal Tooling set that helps us improve our Operations processes, manage our Infrastructure, and scale our SystemsA successful candidate will have
Experience setting up and maintaining distributed environments know how to design, implement and operate services with functional, scalability or costs constraintsExperience working in a DevOps focused culture environment, where the team you’ll join will be providing support to feature teams to accelerate time to market thru tools and baselines offeredExperience in AWS services and container-related technologies, specially EKSExperience in automation and programming to keep Infrastructure as Code. Knowledge of Golang/Python, as most of the tools we provide to the teams, and we are owners of are coded in that languageCommitment to provide well-tested, performing and high-quality services and strong skill capabilities to push it forwardExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical communitiesAble to join the on call rotation according to the scheduleContinuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiencyExperience working as a Sysadmin/Platform engineer in production on services with high traffic
