Backend Developer (Nest.js and TypeScript) - Work From Home

Job Description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Backend Developer to join our growing team. You’ll work primarily with NestJS (with a minimum of 2 years of experience) and TypeScript, alongside an array of AWS services, to build reliable, scalable applications. You’ll also work on both RESTful and GraphQL APIs. • Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript
• Build and integrate both RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Collaborate with the development team to design, build, and deploy new features and improvements
• Write and execute tests using Jest to ensure high-quality, reliable code
• Integrate and manage AWS services (RDS with PostgreSQL, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, SES, SQS)
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, providing efficient and effective solutions
• Follow best practices for performance, security, and scalability

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with NestJS (TypeScript)
• Familiarity with Node.js and Express.js
• Excellent PostgreSQL skills, including database design and query optimisation
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Jest
• Basic understanding of AWS services, particularly RDS (PostgreSQL), Elastic Beanstalk, S3, SES, and SQS
• Excellent communication skills, with a team-first attitude
• Organised, hardworking, and enthusiastic about continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Exposure to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Experience with Git (version control) and Agile development practices
• Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design and best practices
• An ability to problem-solve under pressure and deliver to deadlines
