Job Description

⚡ About PowerUs

PowerUs is building the ultimate career platform for skilled blue-collar workers, helping them find jobs they love and supporting their professional growth—from apprenticeship to retirement.

As a two-way marketplace, we connect skilled workers with companies that need their expertise. We empower workers to transition into high-demand industries, such as renewable energy, where they can increase their earnings by up to 50%. At the same time, we help companies quickly hire the skilled talent they need, bridging a critical gap in the shift toward a sustainable energy future.

With €24 million raised in our Series B financing, we’re dedicated to making skilled blue-collar work attractive, and driving a more sustainable future.

🙌  Job Mission

As the Product Manager in the Marketplace Squad, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the PowerUs marketplace and the recommendation system that brings workers and companies together. You'll collaborate with data scientists, engineers and designers to improve ranking and recommendation algorithms, ensuring our matching experience creates success for both workers and companies.

This role will focus heavily on logic-driven and recommendation-based marketplace improvements, requiring someone who can step in and drive the conversation, collaborate cross-functionally, and translate complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the business.

🎯 What You’ll Do
  • Own and drive the vision, strategy, and execution of the Marketplace recommendation algorithm and matching experience that underpins our job marketplace.

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver results for workers, companies, and the business.

  • Lead stakeholder management across multiple teams (Product Squads, Account Managers, Sales, etc.), ensuring alignment and translating complex models and algorithms into business impact.

  • Champion a user-centric approach to evolving our matching and recommendations, leveraging data and insights to optimize user experience and engagement.

  • Develop and communicate a clear product roadmap for marketplace matching and recommendations, balancing short-term impact with long-term strategic goals.

  • Identify, capture, and leverage user behavior signals (e.g., explicit preferences, engagement data) to refine and personalize job recommendations.

  • Ensure the UI effectively communicates recommendation logic to users, providing transparency and clarity in the job search experience.

🌟 What We’re Looking For
  • 3 - 8 years of experience working on data-intensive marketplace products, focusing on recommendation systems, personalization, ranking, or search to optimize matching and engagement.

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies with a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.

  • Deep understanding of A/B testing, including when to experiment, test setup, and results interpretation for ranking systems and model testing.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts (such as ML-based ranking models) into clear, non-technical insights for business stakeholders.

  • Experience working in both startup and larger company environments is a plus - balancing the ability to move fast in an ambiguous, resource-constrained setting while bringing best practices from larger-scale environments.

  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions in the absence of perfect data, adapting strategies when faced with limited traffic, engagement signals, or user inputs.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work effectively with engineers, ML teams, and product designers to deliver impact.

  • Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.

💪 What We Offer
  • A competitive compensation package, including Employee Stock Options.

  • Flexibility to work remotely or from our office in Berlin.

  • 30 days of vacation to ensure you have time to recharge.

  • An annual budget for L&D to support your professional growth.

  • A mobility flat rate of €50/month for sharing services such as cars, scooters, and public transport (for employees based in Germany).

  • Discounts for Urban Sports Club or WellHub to keep you active and healthy (for employees based in Germany).

  • The opportunity to join an early-stage, fast-growing startup backed by Tier-1 investors.

  • The chance to make a significant impact on company strategy from day one and collaborate directly with the founders.

As an equal opportunity employer, we proudly welcome applications from people of all races, ethnicities, disability statuses, ages, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We encourage you to apply even if you don't think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the role and our mission. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for team members who are genuinely excited to join PowerUs! We look forward to receiving your application!
