Senior Accountant (MX)

Job Description

We seek a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee our general accounting). The role involves full ownership of accounting operations, AP policy implementation, and managing trade loans based on accounts receivable (AR). The candidate should excel in problem-solving, financial forecasting, and optimizing cash flow while clearing outstanding payables. 

This role will be working from home permanently and during U.S. PST business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all general accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial planning, and forecasting.
  • Handle inventory management, particularly in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.
  • Approve and optimize accounts payable (AP) processes, ensuring efficiency despite high volume.
  • Strategize ways to extend bill payment timelines while managing outstanding invoices.
  • Own and manage all accounting functions, ensuring streamlined financial operations.
  • Collaborate with a private equity (PE) partner on financial decisions and reporting.
  • Revise AP policies and improve payment processes.
  • Leverage trade loans based on AR to maintain liquidity.
  • Conduct write-offs for obsolete inventory and track inventory with support from the R&D team.
  • Perform scenario analysis related to trade spend, budgets, and financial forecasting.
  • Be available for calls with stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Review expenses and ensure cost control, without direct involvement in analytics strategy.
  • Manage collections and optimize AR processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role, preferably in CPG or a high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP, AR, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement financial policies and strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in scenario analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to handle high AP volume efficiently.
  • Experience in trade loans, financial restructuring, and cash flow optimization is an advantage.
