As a result, we’re looking for a results driven, commercially astute and entrepreneurial sales leader to help us achieve our strategic goals.  Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and driving global sales and account management strategy and operations, this is a unique, ‘work from anywhere’ role that will offer you fantastic challenges and opportunities to continue to build upon our recently reorganized sales and account management teams.

What the role looks like

This role forms part of our Commercial division’s senior leadership team and is integral to Moodle’s ongoing success. As a highly experienced commercial leader, you will bring entrepreneurial spirit and a hunger for success to achieve revenue growth targets and our strategic objectives. The Director of Global Sales and Account Management is the leader of the direct Sales and Account Management functions for Moodle globally and is ultimately responsible for the overall direct revenue results for Moodle Services.  The Director of Global Sales and Account Management is a senior leader in the business and will establish this new division including establishing and embedding a new structure, strategy, targets and operating processes. 

More specifically, this entails:

  • Developing and executing a global sales and account management strategy aligned with Moodle’s growth objectives, market opportunities, and business goals.
  • Leading and scaling a high-performing global sales and account management team, setting KPIs, revenue targets, and strategic objectives across regions.
  • Identify new business opportunities, key markets, and strategic accounts to drive significant growth in Moodle’s B2B and enterprise segments.
  • Collaborating with the product, marketing and delivery teams to align sales efforts with product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies and customer success initiatives.
  • Leveraging data-driven insights to improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
  • Building and executing a comprehensive account management strategy focused on deepening relationships with existing customers, increasing customer lifetime value, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Leading negotiations for large-scale, complex contracts and ensuring seamless handover to the delivery and implementation teams.
  • Developing key account plans for high-priority customers, ensuring personalized solutions that address their needs and business objectives
  • Fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the global sales and account management teams.
  • Providing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities for Sales Managers, Sales Executives, Account Managers and Sales Development Representatives to ensure their growth and success.
  • Driving operational excellence in sales processes, tools, and methodologies, ensuring scalability and efficiency as the team and business expand globally.
  • Owning the global sales and account management P&L, delivering on revenue targets, managing sales budgets, and optimizing cost-efficiency.

This role requires the ability to work effectively within a global context and provide leadership for our US and India based teams. This role requires a strong fluency in the English language (both written and verbal). Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.

Especially if you can tell us about your:

  • Extensive direct sales leadership experience. Proven track record of success in driving global sales strategies, leading large teams, and delivering against ambitious revenue targets.
  • Proven ability to bring teams together, building a culture of high performance and ensuring consistency in processes and systems.
  • Experience building strong relationships with internal and external customers, including working collaboratively with other business leaders
  • Strong work ethic with proactive communication skills: ability to inspire with words and actions
  • Significant experience in the EdTech sector
  • A customer-obsessed approach and strong evidence of successful collaboration with Marketing teams on targeted outreach and engagement campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of global sales operations and the tools and training required to drive sales performance.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

You’ll knock us off our feet if you have:

  • An understanding of EdTech, particularly Learning management systems (LMS). Bonus points for Moodle experience!
