Job Description

As a Senior Ellucian Banner Software Architect, you will lead the design, integration, and optimization of the Ellucian Banner ERP ecosystem across key modules, including Student, Finance, HR, and Financial Aid. You will focus on architecting scalable solutions, optimizing system performance, ensuring seamless integrations, and defining best practices in a complex higher education environment. Collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams, you will ensure that Banner implementations align with institutional goals and industry standards while actively customizing and integrating Banner solutions. You will also be hands-on in customizing, configuring, and integrating Banner solutions while maintaining a focus on scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and integration of Ellucian Banner ERP modules to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Optimize system performance through performance tuning, load balancing, and security best practices.
- Customize, configure, and integrate Banner solutions in alignment with institutional objectives.
- Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
- Engage in architectural strategy discussions to define technical roadmaps for future developments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with Ellucian Banner ERP across core modules.
- Expertise in integrating Banner with third-party applications.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and Shell Scripting for system optimization and automation.
- Java development expertise for custom integrations and API-driven enhancements.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git, Jenkins, or similar).
- Familiarity with Ellucian Ethos for data governance, workflow automation, and system extensibility.
- Experience in performance tuning, load balancing.
- Strong leadership and architectural strategy skills to define technical roadmaps and mentor teams.
- Hands-on experience with customizing, configuring, and integrating Banner solutions.


Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of higher education security and compliance standards (RBAC, FERPA, Title IV, GDPR, etc.).
- Background in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies to drive ERP development and enhancements.
- Knowledge of LMS integrations (Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle) with Ellucian Banner.
