Chemstations (a division of Datacor, Inc.) is a chemical engineering technology company with three decades of experience offering an adaptive process simulation technology called CHEMCAD. Our products allow chemical engineers to enhance their design, analysis, and testing capabilities in multiple applications – from research and development to process design, operations, and education across various industries.

The Role:
Chemstations is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our Technical Support group. This person will assist the team in solving software, hardware, and engineering problems encountered by customers. If you have experience and a passion for problem solving and process simulation, this role is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Support customers in answering questions about the company’s software (licensing, installation, capabilities, calculations, graphical interface, etc.) through telephone, e-mail, video conference, and team collaboration tools. Route and escalate issues as necessary to resolve them efficiently.
  • Support the Pre-Sales team by demonstrating our software to prospective customers with specific customer examples.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot customer simulations and identify input and modeling mistakes made by users. Communicate the root problem and provide a solution in a timely and sensitive manner.
  • Identify, document, and track client requests using existing ticketing and bug reporting systems.
  • Develop and maintain product documentation (methods, features, procedures, workarounds) in the form of help topics, user manuals, knowledge base articles, FAQ pages, and example simulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical process engineering
  • Effective communication, as well as written and verbal fluency in German and in English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven experience building, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex flowsheet
    simulations (CHEMCAD or similar software used in the Chemical Process Industry) is highly preferred
