Senior Commercial Insurance Broker - Complex Risk (Remote First)

Job Description



As a Senior Broker on our complex risk (Elite) team, you will play a key role in retaining and fostering strong relationships with our larger clients in our commercial book of business. In this role, you will work to retain a combination of our "Elite" clients such as high premium clients and complex files. You will also be responsible to act as a mentor to team members, contribute to workflow improvements through testing, and collaborate with the engineering team as needed.

Reporting to your Team Lead, this position requires maintaining a high level of professionalism, quality, and going above and beyond with each client interaction.


Responsibilities:
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience with each interaction taking into consideration the needs of the Elite client portfolio.
  • Proactively manage the renewal process for existing Elite clients in advance of their renewal date, remarketing as needed.
  • Assess the unique insurance requirements of high premium accounts by conducting a needs analysis, risk consultation, and making appropriate coverage recommendations based on the client’s current business operation and exposure.
  • Act as a primary contact between the Accounts and Renewal team, working collaboratively with Elite Brokers, to provide a positive client and insurer interaction and create win-win solutions.
  • Liaise with insurance partners to negotiate the best possible insurance package to meet the needs of the client.
  • Handle overflow of non-Elite renewals as needed.
  • Be a mentor and work towards elevating the experience and knowledge of new and existing team members.
  • Participate in projects to support process improvement, workflow testing, and collaborating with other Elite Brokers as well as the engineering teams.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience within the commercial insurance industry.
  • Provincial Insurance License in good standing.
  • CAIB, CIP, or other insurance relationship designation is considered an asset.
  • Superior attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent client service orientation both internally and externally.
