Account Director – Patient Engagement (U.S.)

Reports to Group Account Director (U.S.), Patient Engagement

Job Summary

The Account Director (AD) is the primary client point of contact for patient initiatives (for one or more accounts), ensuring they are profitable and growing strategically. The AD is responsible for the delivery of quality patient-focused programs, and creative work that aligns with the client’s objectives and addresses their business needs. The AD coordinates resources to manage and execute projects efficiently while balancing client expectations and successfully executing Patient Engager and Patient Marketing programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Communicates effectively with clients to address account and brand strategic needs, driving organic growth.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with key client contacts to monitor performance and strengthen relationships.
  • Proactively identifies issues and leads swift, effective remedial action.
  • Manages and mentors a team of one or more account managers.
  • Escalates critical issues to the GAD regarding key accounts and the account team as needed.
  • Supports the GAD as a senior member of the team, offering insights and guidance.
  • Keeps the GAD informed on all significant client activities and developments.
  • Provides clear strategic direction to the agency team, evaluating creative outputs and tactical plans for alignment with strategic goals and offering constructive feedback.
  • Holds comprehensive understanding of each client’s business
  • Exhibits strong empathy for and insight into each client’s patient group, with a focus on their unique needs.
  • Remains intune with — and an understanding of — industry business trends. Broad knowledge of what’s going on in the patient engagement and marketing space to offer innovative solutions to clients

  

Tactics and Execution

  • Oversees all activities that relate to support of the patient-focused programs and projects associated with the client account. This includes strategy and planning meetings, status meetings, financial reconciliation, partner agency coordination, project-level reporting and measurement, and participation in Review Committee process as needed.
  • Drives strategy and planning for patient video shoots, ensuring final deliverables align with business objectives.
  • Takes a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to client projects, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Effectively collaborates with a cross-functional team, including Patient Relationship Managers, Patient Storywriters, and Program Event Planners, to develop, plan, and execute patient engagement programs.
  • Effectively collaborates and establishes strong and trusted working relationships with client partner agencies and OH vendor partners.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel for team meetings, client meetings, patient meetings and/or video shoots. This may include weekend and evening hours. This may also include international travel.
