Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a technical leader on the team — owning the design and delivery of complex, high-scale backend services and integrations that power multi-channel ecommerce. You'll set architectural direction, take on our hardest problems, and mentor other engineers, all while staying hands-on in the code. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for someone who leads through technical excellence.

How you will achieve success:

Lead the design and architecture of complex, high-scale services and integrations, from concept to production.

Drive technical direction and make the key architectural decisions that shape the team's roadmap.

Mentor and guide engineers, and raise the bar through thoughtful design and code reviews.

Own ambiguous, high-impact problems end-to-end — breaking them down and driving them to delivery.

Champion reliability, observability, automation, and operational excellence.

Partner closely with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams.

Stay hands-on: write high-quality, maintainable, well-tested code.

What experiences will help you in this role:

7+ years of backend software engineering experience.

Deep system design and distributed systems expertise — you've designed and owned systems at scale.

A track record of technical leadership: mentoring engineers, influencing architecture, and setting engineering standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership, and comfort with ambiguity.

Proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, or Python (must have).

Working knowledge of .NET.

Strong with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure), microservices, and event-driven architecture.

Strong debugging, testing, and documentation skills.

Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.

Nice-to-have: experience with high-throughput or marketplace/ecommerce systems.
