Senior AI Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer with a strong software engineering background and hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying production-ready Artificial Intelligence solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine solid software development and solution design experience with practical knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models, RAG architectures, AI agents, and cloud-based AI services.

You will work closely with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define technical solutions, build AI-powered applications, and take them from proof of concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and Generative AI solutions.
• Build LLM-powered applications, intelligent assistants, copilots, AI agents, and automated workflows.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Implement semantic search, embeddings, knowledge retrieval, and vector database solutions.
• Integrate Large Language Models through Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or equivalent AI platforms.
• Develop prompts, tools, function-calling workflows, and agent orchestration mechanisms.
• Evaluate and select AI models, frameworks, and architectures according to each use case.
• Define evaluation criteria and monitor the accuracy, quality, latency, security, and cost of AI solutions.
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing software products and enterprise applications.
• Transform business requirements into scalable, secure, and production-ready technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and define development standards and best practices for AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary technical and business teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in software development, solution design, or application architecture.
• 2+ years of hands-on professional experience designing and implementing Artificial Intelligence solutions.
• Proven experience developing Generative AI and Large Language Model applications.
• Strong experience with RAG, Prompt Engineering, embeddings, semantic search, and vector databases.
• Experience building AI agents and implementing Tool Calling or Function Calling.
• Experience integrating Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or equivalent cloud-based AI services.
• Strong software development experience with Python and/or C#/.NET.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Git, relational databases, software architecture, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience taking AI prototypes or proofs of concept into production.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and collaborate with software development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, or Azure Machine Learning.
• Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience with AI evaluation, observability, guardrails, and prompt management.
• Experience with fine-tuning or model customization.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Angular, React, or modern frontend technologies.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI governance, data privacy, and application security.
• Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Software Architect, AI Solutions Architect, or mentor.
