Role overview

Our client is building a data-driven platform focused on creating highly accurate, structured knowledge from complex real-world information sources. The platform combines expert research, data verification, and modern AI-assisted workflows to transform fragmented information into trusted datasets that power downstream products and decision-making systems.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Analyst to help build and maintain structured knowledge about vehicles and automotive history. This role involves researching information from factory documentation, registries, archives, technical references, and other authoritative sources, then transforming that information into reliable, verifiable, and structured data.

CONTRACT: Long-term contractor assignment

COMMITMENT: Full-time with minimum 4 hours overlap with New York working hours

LOCATION: Remote

Responsibilities

  • Research and verify vehicle specifications, production details, configurations, and factory documentation
  • Extract information from primary sources, archives, registries, and technical references
  • Build and maintain structured automotive datasets with clear provenance and citations
  • Evaluate source reliability and resolve conflicting information
  • Document supporting evidence for all recorded data points
  • Use AI tools to accelerate research while independently validating results
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve data quality
  • Propose improvements to data models and classification structures when needed
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and completeness

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in research, data analysis, cataloging, archival work, or similar detail-oriented roles
  • Strong ability to assess source quality, credibility, and reliability
  • Experience working with structured data, spreadsheets, databases, or similar tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Comfortable using AI tools for research, extraction, and summarization workflows
  • Ability to work independently and manage research projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive industry experience, particularly with European vehicle manufacturers
  • Knowledge of collector, classic, or specialty vehicles
  • German language reading proficiency
  • Experience with archives, registries, libraries, or historical research
  • Experience building taxonomies, ontologies, or structured knowledge systems
  • Basic scripting, database, or data management experien
