Position Summary: 

 

The Staff Software Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions for the organization. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver innovative and scalable software products that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders. Expertise and leadership will be vital in guiding the team and ensuring best practices in software development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

 

o Design, code, test, and debug software applications in accordance with established coding standards and best practices. Develop APIs ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.

o Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs. Provide input on feasibility and technical approaches for implementing new features and improvements.

o Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, ensure consistency, and share knowledge among team members. Offer constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance codebase integrity.

o Identify and troubleshoot software defects and issues, employing analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop efficient and effective solutions.

o Create and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, design documents, and user guides. Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.

o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration of software components and successful product releases.

o Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance development efficiency and product quality.

o Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests to validate software functionality and reliability. Implement automated testing frameworks to streamline the testing process.

o Guides team in AI tooling best practices; collaborating with other technical leaders.

o Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and track changes to source code. Collaborate effectively within a distributed version control environment.

 

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:

 

o 0+ years of professional software engineering experience building, operating, and evolving production-scale applications, APIs, and distributed systems.

o 4+ years of hands-on experience developing software in Golang.

o 4+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating services in Kubernetes-based environments.

o 4+ years of experience designing and building scalable, high-performing APIs with attention to reliability, operability, maintainability, and long-term technical direction.

o Proven track record of providing technical leadership including driving technical design reviews, influencing engineering standards, and making architecture decisions for teams of 5+ software engineers across multiple projects in flight.

o Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and developer workflows.

o Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization.

o Experience influencing technical strategy, gaining alignment across teams, and unblocking execution through strong communication, collaboration, and creativity.

o Experience working within Agile development environments and using modern collaboration and project management tools such as Jira.

o Nice to have: Python development experience.

Physical Requirements:

 

o Minimal to light physical effort is required in performing duties.

o Prolonged stationary periods at a desk and working on a computer.

o Extensive use of computers, keyboards, and communication-based technology to exchange information.

o Occasional walking and lifting may be required and must be able to lift 15 pounds at any given time.

o Travel Required: 10%
