We are seeking a senior, hands-on Zuora Billing Developer to own the build and evolution of our global subscription billing platform. You will design and deliver high-quality configuration and technical solutions across product catalogue, subscriptions, billing and invoicing—combining configuration with API-led integrations, automation, and data-driven controls to deliver secure, scalable outcomes aligned to finance and go-to-market needs.
In this role you will partner closely with Solution Architects, Business Systems Analysts, development teams and business teams to translate requirements into working features, integrations and automations. You will take end-to-end ownership from technical design and estimation through build, testing, release and production support, applying strong engineering discipline (versioning, peer review, documentation, operational readiness and runbooks). This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex billing challenges, improving platform reliability, and raising the bar for how we deliver change in Zuora Billing.
Enhance Zuora Billing capabilities using a hands-on approach to configure and maintain Zuora product catalog, including rate plan charges (recurring, usage, one-time), tiers, discounting, amendments, and proration behavior, aligned to agreed go-to-market models.
Develop and maintain Zuora workflows and automations (e.g., billing runs, invoice generation, dunning, and operational processes) using standard platform features and best practices.
Accelerate configuration, troubleshooting, and solution exploration using Zuora AI capabilities (e.g., Zuora AI chat/assistant and AI-enabled workflow development features) while validating outputs for accuracy, security, and compliance.
Design, build, and support integrations with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, data platforms, middleware) using Zuora APIs, event patterns, and agreed integration standards.
Deliver technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans, and collaborate with Solution Architects and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose scalable cross-functional solutions.
Promote engineering discipline across the team: testing, peer reviews, environment hygiene, and operational readiness; share knowledge and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate.
Troubleshoot complex billing issues across configuration, data, and integrations; perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation (solution notes, configuration rationale, runbooks, and support guides) and use AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve draft quality, structure, and completeness.
Implement and support data migration and cutover activities (data mapping, load approach, reconciliation, and post-load validation) for changes impacting Zuora Billing.
Zuora certifications (e.g., Zuora Billing Administrator, Zuora Billing Consultant, or equivalent).
Experience with complex go-to-market models (usage-based pricing, ramp deals, multi-entity, multi-currency, mid-term upgrades, renewals) and high-volume billing operations.
Experience of Zuora Revenue (RevPro) and revenue recognition principles, including upstream/downstream impacts from billing configuration.
Knowledge of financial processes and controls, including tax, compliance, audit evidence, and reconciliation.
Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies, CI/CD or DevOps practices for configuration/integration changes.
Knowledge of IT security and architecture frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, TOGAF) and how they influence application design and integration choices.
