Popmenu Design Operations
This is a production focused web design role. Popmenu Designers work directly inside our proprietary web builder to deliver ready-to-launch client websites. The role blends visual design with light front-end styling using CSS to ensure responsiveness, accessibility, and polish.
This is not a software engineering role: no JavaScript frameworks, application development, or from-scratch builds. Success in this role comes from strong design judgment, comfort working with short deadlines, and the ability to work independently and efficiently within our expectations and platform constraints.
This role is best for designers who enjoy building directly in a web platform, working quickly within templates, and using CSS to solve layout and styling issues. It is not a fit for candidates seeking a purely creative mockup role or full front-end engineering work.
Responsibilities
- Build and configure client websites directly within Popmenu's proprietary web builder, designing in production rather than creating mockups
- Apply HTML and CSS to refine layouts, resolve styling edge cases, and meet ADA requirements, with an understanding that CSS is used only where the builder cannot accommodate the need.
- Execute efficient, template-based site builds while maintaining visual quality, brand alignment, and cross-section consistency
- Contribute to redesign projects, updating layouts, styles, and clearly scoped components as assigned.
- Support the broader design team by assisting with design support requests, fixes, and enhancements across active sites.
- Perform internal reviews using design checklists before sites are published, identifying layout, styling, accessibility, and content issues
- Use limited or incomplete brand assets to deliver polished designs by selecting fonts, extending color palettes, and sourcing or modifying imagery when needed
- Edit and format content to improve clarity, hierarchy, and readability
- Apply SEO best practices for page structure, metadata, and image descriptions- including the use of AI tools for drafting SEO copy, alt text, and content summaries
- Write clear, structured design notes for both internal teams and clients, communicating changes, decisions, and context accurately
- Track and manage assigned work through Salesforce, including updating milestone stages and logging notes.
- Attend internal team meetings and partner with Onboarding and Success teams on client calls for complex requests or escalations as needed
- Incorporate internal and client feedback accurately and efficiently.
