Job Role: Senior Accountant

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Work Schedule: 9:00am - 5:30pm (AEST time) Monday to Thursday (with 30min lunch) and  9:00am - 3:00pm finish Friday (with 30 min lunch)

Their work spans tax, business advisory, and financial management, supporting clients across different industries with clear guidance and reliable expertise.

Role Overview: We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Australian tax and compliance to join the team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working across multiple entity types and can take ownership of financial reporting, tax preparation, and compliance processes end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for Australian companies, trusts, and individuals
  • Complete full compilation of accounts using Xero, including:
    • Hire purchase (HP) reconciliations
    • Intercompany accounts (ICA) and inter-entity transactions
    • Income tax accounts (ITA)
    • Superannuation account reconciliations
    • Depreciation schedules and end-of-year journals
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including GST and income tax requirements
  • Review and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure deadlines and compliance obligations are met

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in preparing Australian financials and tax returns across companies, trusts, and individuals
  • Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, including income tax and GST
  • Confident in handling end-to-end account compilation and reconciliations
  • Strong experience in managing a team of say 2-3 remote accountants
  • Highly proficient in Xero, Xero XPM, Xero Tax, Xero Workpapers, FYI, Now Infinity
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
