Job Description

Do you have a passion for social media marketing/management and digital marketing? Are you excited to manage the social media presence of a growing company and its leadership? We are looking for an energetic, creative, and detail-oriented Social Media and Marketing Manager to join our team and drive our engagement strategy both online and in person at conferences, etc. This full-time position will be remote, working on EST (Eastern Standard Time) and report directly to the CEO.

The Social Media & Marketing Manager (SMMM) will be responsible for overseeing and executing the social media strategies for the CEO and the company and the general marketing material and strategies for the company. This includes regular content creation, managing and tracking campaigns, community engagement, performance reporting, and maintaining the professional branding the CEO and the company page. The intent of this role is to distinguish the CEO and the company as thought leaders that can be trusted and perform quality work — specifically targeting accredited investors, family offices, commercial real estate brokers, and business partners. Within 90 days of hire, the candidate is expected to develop a working knowledge of our business investment strategy, deal structures, asset classes, and target markets, and demonstrate that knowledge through the content they independently produce.

This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified candidates to use and develop their digital marketing skills while working with a team of passionate professionals. The role offers significant autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to grow in a rapidly expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage company's LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram accounts with a primary focus on LinkedIn as the highest-priority platform for reaching accredited investors and institutional partners.
  • Manage the CEO's LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, with LinkedIn as the primary platform for thought leadership and investor audience development.
  • Coordinate content creation with local videographers, photographers to create into content on social platforms and track engagement.
  • Post content 2-3 times per week on each platform, focusing on content that each platform reaches (personal for Instagram, business for LinkedIn) for the CEO, thought leadership in commercial real estate and business mindset
  • Respond to comments, messages, and connection requests, while maintaining positive engagement across both accounts.
  • Proactively research Alakai's deals, markets, and industry developments to generate original content ideas without requiring prompting from leadership. Seek out information independently rather than waiting for it to be provided.
  • Develop content (posts, images, infographics) for social media platforms.
  • Develop and own Nick Jones's personal brand voice and content calendar with minimal CEO input.
  • After an initial onboarding period, content should sound authentically like Nick and require little to no revision before publishing.Collaborate with graphic designers or use tools to create engaging visual content.
  • Schedule posts aligned with business milestones, acquisitions, and industry news.
  • Ensure timely posting across all platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building a personal brand for a founder or C-suite executive — not just company pages. Must provide writing samples specifically on investment, business, or financial topics. Consumer lifestyle brand experience alone is not sufficient
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, youtube, Facebook, tik tok) and content creation tools (e.g., Canva).
  • Exceptional writing ability with the capacity to write in someone else's authentic voice. Must be able to produce content on commercial real estate, investment strategy, and business leadership that sounds credible to a sophisticated accredited investor audience. Basic financial literacy is required — candidates must be able to learn and write knowledgeably about cap rates, NOI, deal structures, and investor returns within 60 days of hire
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple social media accounts and content calendars autonomously. This role requires someone who takes initiative without being asked, identifies opportunities proactively, and does not require day-to-day oversight from the CEO to function effectively
  • Experience in tracking performance and adjusting strategies based on data.
  • Demonstrated expertise in LinkedIn growth specifically — platform algorithm knowledge, content format performance, engagement strategies, and audience development for professional and investor audiences
  • Proficient in AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent tools, with the ability to use them effectively for content drafting, research, ideation, and workflow automation. Candidates should be able to demonstrate specific examples of how they have used AI to improve output quality, increase production speed, or solve a content challenge. This is a non-negotiable requirement — AI fluency is a core competency of this role, not an optional skill.
