About Checkmate

Checkmate is a restaurant technology solution provider that has continually evolved over time. We started in 2017 by integrating 3rd party platforms to the POS systems of restaurants. At that time, there were multiple 3rd party platforms like GrubHub, UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, Caviar, and even Amazon!

This was the photograph that started it all!

We have since then continually evolved to add multiple products to our portfolio, the primary ones being first party ordering solutions like web and app ordering, kiosks and catering. We have now recently moved into three new exciting products: Digital Menu Boards, Phone Ordering AI and Drive thru AI. We form a very core part of the restaurant technology ecosystem, and are continually adding more and more digital solutions for the restaurant brands to increase their sales.

Our revolutionary enterprise menu management system, Everyware, truly unlocks the potential of menus and how it can be customized for each individual digital channel. As you can see, this is a company that continually evolves and adapts and today we are powering digital ordering solutions for some of the largest brands in the world.

We have been called the "north star of vendors" as we truly believe that technology is just a method by which we service the customers, it does not form the entirety of it. Service is a big component of what we provide to our customers, which is inherently believed by every single team member here. About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to own and drive customer-facing digital experiences across multiple platforms. This role focuses on building seamless, high-conversion user journeys that directly impact revenue and customer satisfaction.

You will work at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and AI-driven experimentation to deliver intuitive, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

What You Will Own

  • End-to-end ownership of customer-facing product experiences
  • Optimization of user journeys across multiple touchpoints
  • Driving improvements in conversion, engagement, and retention

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Execution

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from problem discovery to launch and iteration
  • Translate business and user problems into clear product requirements (PRDs, user stories, flows)
  • Drive fast execution with a strong bias for action

Customer & Conversion Focus

  • Improve key funnel metrics such as traffic → conversion → revenue → repeat usage
  • Identify friction points in user journeys and optimize UX/UI
  • Work closely with design to build intuitive and high-performing experiences

Experimentation & AI-first Thinking

  • Leverage AI and experimentation frameworks (e.g., personalization, recommendations, A/B testing)
  • Run rapid experiments to optimize user experience and business outcomes
  • Use data to inform decisions and continuously iterate

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, design, operations, and business teams to deliver high-quality features
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders, with required overlap in EST time zone
  • Align product roadmap with business goals and customer needs

Prioritization & Decision Making

  • Own roadmap prioritization based on impact, effort, and strategic value
  • Balance quick wins with long-term platform scalability

Requirements

Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in product management
  • Prior experience in a product-based company
  • Exposure to consumer-facing( B2B ) products is preferred
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills
  • High ownership with a bias for action
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience or exposure to AI-first product environments
  • Strong understanding of experimentation, metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Must be comfortable working in US hours at least till 5 pm EST.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in restaurant tech, consumer tech, or e-commerce, platforms
  • Familiarity with conversion optimization and checkout flows
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing or experimentation tools
