Design Support Engineer

Job Description

AMG & Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Support Engineer to join our team. As a Design Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our design team in the development and implementation of innovative solutions for our clients. Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and provide technical support in the development of new products and solutions

- Conduct research and analysis to support the design process, including feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing

- Assist in the creation of 3D models, drawings, and technical specifications using CAD software

- Review and evaluate designs for accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability

- Identify and troubleshoot design issues, providing solutions and recommendations for improvement

- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components for prototypes and production

- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in design technology, incorporating new techniques and tools into the design process

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

- 3+ years of experience in a design support role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment

- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping is a plus
