Our client is looking for a Shopify Developer & Merchandising Coordinator to join their team full-time. This is primarily a development-focused role where you’ll own the front-end health and evolution of the Shopify storefront, with a meaningful merchandising component.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the website looks polished, functions smoothly, and presents products in a compelling and organized way. This role works closely with the creative team, so having both strong technical skills and an appreciation for design is important.

– Implement cosmetic updates, UI improvements, and design changes with precision
– Translate creative direction into clean, well-structured Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
– Maintain visual consistency and quality across desktop and mobile
– Optimize layouts for both mobile and desktop
– Integrate video and multimedia elements
– Maintain and document code updates through GitHub
– Build and execute A/B and multivariate tests across key pages (PDP, cart, landing pages)
– Collaborate with the team on test hypotheses and support analysis of results
– Implement and document test variants for future optimization
– Audit and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards across the storefront
– Integrate accessibility best practices into development workflows
– Participate in training from an accessibility remediation expert
– Create and manage product listings including assets, metadata, and copy provided by the content team
– Organize and maintain product collections
– Ensure products are categorized and sequenced effectively for merchandising
– Maintain a clean, consistent, and up-to-date product catalog
– Monitor storefront performance and resolve bugs
– Manage app integrations and third-party tools
– Maintain clean, well-documented code
– Act as a responsive and reliable technical partner to the team
Requirements
– 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
– Strong understanding of Liquid templating, Shopify theme architecture, and the Shopify ecosystem
– Proficient in HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript
– Strong design awareness and attention to visual details
– Experience with CRO tools such as Google Optimize, VWO, or similar
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work asynchronously
– Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects
– Experience with Shopify 2.0 and metafields
– Familiarity with analytics tools such as GA4 or Hotjar
– Interest or experience in fashion, accessories, or creative consumer brands
– Experience collaborating with US-based teams across time zones
– GSAP or Three.js experience is a strong plus
