Job Role: Senior Full Stack Developer 

Compensation range: $2500 - $3000 AUD Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

They are building a digital platform that helps individuals and organisations access practical financial guidance, tools, and insights to make better money decisions. With a remote-first team and a strong focus on innovation, the company is developing modern solutions that combine financial coaching, data, and emerging technologies to create meaningful impact in people’s financial lives.

Role Overview: As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining a mature platform. The successful candidate will work as the second full-time developer on the team and will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy. This role requires someone who is comfortable managing their own priorities, proactively communicating blockers, and contributing meaningfully to product and technical decisions without requiring constant oversight.

You will play a key role in developing and improving the company’s core platform, integrating APIs and AI capabilities, and supporting upcoming product initiatives such as a mobile-based AI coaching companion.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, values clean and secure architecture, and is genuinely interested in the intersection of technology, AI, and financial well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain features across the company’s core web platform using Vue.js, Next.js, and Laravel
  • Integrate third-party APIs, including payment providers, external services, and webhook-based systems
  • Implement and maintain LLM-powered product features through integrations with APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic
  • Develop and maintain scalable database structures for complex multi-user platform environments
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and multi-tenancy architecture across platform components
  • Work closely with design assets from Figma, ensuring pixel-accurate implementation and strong attention to detail
  • Collaborate with an AI engineer and a QA contractor to support feature development, testing, and deployment
  • Follow structured development workflows, including Figma → Dev → QA → Production
  • Maintain high standards of application security in alignment with ISO 27001-aligned development practices
  • Contribute to technical planning, roadmap discussions, and architectural decisions as the platform continues to evolve
  • Manage multiple streams of work, including feature development, maintenance, and roadmap initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js, Next.js, and Laravel in production environments
  • Solid experience with API integrations, including payments, third-party services, and webhook-based architectures
  • Experience integrating AI or LLM APIs (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) into application features
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and design for complex web platforms
  • Experience implementing authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant systems
  • Familiarity with AI-native development workflows using tools such as Cursor or Claude
  • Experience working with design systems or contributing to UI/UX improvements
  • Ability to work confidently in Figma (designing using the design system or using HTML files to create Figma designs) and convert Figma Designs into high-quality frontend implementations
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in software development
  • Experience working within structured software development lifecycle processes
  • Comfortable working in fully remote, asynchronous teams
  • Strong written communication skills and proactive collaboration habits
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

  • Mobile development experience using React Native, Flutter, or similar technologies
  • Experience building booking or scheduling systems
  • Familiarity with payments and payouts infrastructure beyond basic checkout implementations
  • Exposure to compliance-heavy industries such as fintech, healthtech, or legaltech
  • Experience developing content platforms or learning management systems
  • Experience with additional backend technologies such as Node.js or Python
  • Exposure to financial systems or accounting integrations such as Xero
