Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and detail-oriented People Operations professional to join Anchorage, a leading innovator in financial services, as a "Villager" in our Portugal office. As a Member of People Operations, Portugal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and exceptional employee experience, from meticulous HR data management and workplace oversight to navigating local employment intricacies. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong foundation in HR operations who is eager to contribute to a collaborative culture, support our commitment to excellence, and help build an outstanding environment for our Villagers.

Technical Skills:
  • Applies domain knowledge of HR systems and processes to meticulously maintain accurate HRIS data and manage routine People Operations tasks with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Develops expertise in Portuguese employment laws and company policies to ensure compliance and support key employee lifecycle stages such as onboarding and offboarding.
  • Utilizes proficiency in HRIS platforms like Dayforce or Workday to support operational efficiency and problem-solve routine system issues under supervision.

  • Complexity and Impact of Work:
  • Manages day-to-day People Operations activities within established guidelines, contributing to a positive and productive workplace experience for Villagers in Portugal.
  • Exercises judgment to resolve less complex problems related to workplace experience, facilities, and the employee journey, receiving general instructions on routine work.
  • Continuously seeks to deepen understanding of Anchorage's global HR systems, processes, and best practices, applying learned concepts to local operations.

  • Organizational Knowledge:
  • Clearly articulates Anchorage’s mission and key business objectives, understanding how the Portugal People Operations function supports the firm's strategic success and commitment to excellence.
  • Grasps the broader People Operations team strategy, identifying how local initiatives and contributions align with global priorities and values.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Anchorage's collaborative culture and how People Operations fosters an environment of intellectual curiosity and integrity.

  • Communication and Influence:
  • Communicates clearly and proactively with Villagers, managers, and vendors in both English and Portuguese, ensuring timely updates and information sharing that affects colleagues.
  • Builds and maintains productive internal relationships with stakeholders and external relationships with vendors to support seamless workplace operations and employee services.
  • Actively contributes to People Operations team discussions and problem-solving efforts, offering insights and solutions for routine challenges with continued encouragement.

  • You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience in People Operations, Human Resources, or a related domain, preferably within financial services or a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Proven proficiency and experience with major HRIS platforms such as Dayforce or Workday for accurate data management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing comprehensive employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and related administrative tasks.
  • Solid understanding of Portuguese labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese (native or professional working proficiency in both).
  • Experience in workplace experience management, including facilities oversight, supplies inventory, and vendor relationship management.
  • A meticulous approach to data accuracy and strong organizational skills with an unwavering attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build strong internal and external relationships.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, comfortable working within established guidelines while seeking opportunities for process improvement.

  • Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
  • You possess a relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or a recognized Portuguese HR qualification).
  • You have experience supporting a rapidly growing employee base in a global organization.
