Spreetail

Platform Engineer II

Job Description

As a Platform Engineer II, you’ll be a hands-on cloud and platform engineer focused on DevOps, Developer Experience (DevEx), and platform reliability. You will build and operate core components of the Scaled Innovation platform — the infrastructure, automation, and tooling that enable engineers across Spreetail to ship safely and quickly. This is an execution-focused role for engineers who enjoy automation, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, and improving how software gets built — not just what software gets built. You’ll work closely with senior platform engineers while growing your ability to design systems that enable others.

How you will achieve success:
  • Build Reliable Cloud Infrastructure: Implement and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform across EKS, Lambda, EC2, and S3.
  • Improve Developer Workflows: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, starter kits, and internal tooling that reduce manual effort and improve deployment confidence.
  • Strengthen Observability & Operations: Add monitoring, logging, and alerting (DataDog) to platform services and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Reduce Builder Friction: Improve documentation, automation, and self-service workflows so teams can deploy without deep infrastructure knowledge.
  • Grow Through Feedback & Collaboration: Communicate risks clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and actively learn platform design tradeoffs from senior engineers.

  • What experiences will help you in this role:
  • 3–5 years of experience building or operating cloud-native systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3 preferred).
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized workloads
  • Ability to write production-quality code in Python, C#, or TypeScript, and use SQL for debugging and validation.

  • Nice-to-have experiences that will help you in this role
  • Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to monitoring/observability systems.
  • Experience using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.) to improve productivity.
