About the role

We are looking for Senior Java Developers to join a team in Portugal.

As part of an IT squad, you will contribute to the development and deployment of cutting-edge solutions following internal best practices.

We are looking for a full-stack developer with a strong focus on backend development, eager to explore new technologies and innovative approaches within internal systems of a financial institution. We value a disruptive mindset, resilience in the face of challenges, out-of-the-box thinking, and a willingness to take risks.

As a part of your job, you will:

As a team member the developer will be responsible for:

  • Java backend developments (Spring Boot).
  • Solution designs using AWS and microservices.
  • Frontend development activities, if required.
  • Delivering using agile practices, in sprints and in accordance with the Product Owner and teams backlog and sprint stories.
  • Deploying using DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and proficiency in the latest editions of Java, including expertise in Spring Boot.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Microservices architecture, and design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in frontend technologies like React.js or Angular is a strong plus.
  • Experience in NodeJs and PostgreSQL database is a plus.
  • Solid grasp of security best practices related to APIs and data privacy.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and a commitment to driving Agile practices within the team.
  • Comfortable with DevOps practices involving configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, Gitflow, IaC, deployment patterns among others.
  • Proficiency in English (B2+) is a must.
  • Availability to work onsite 2 days per week, in Lisbon or Oporto.
