Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced CPA-qualified Accountant to support ongoing accounting, financial reporting, and compliance needs for a growing North American business. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical accounting knowledge, strong systems understanding, and the ability to work independently while communicating clearly with stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS or US GAAP, depending on entity requirements
  • Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Review and maintain accuracy of financial data within QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions
  • Improve and document accounting processes and internal controls
  • Collaborate with management on financial reporting, analysis, and decision support
  • Support audit, tax, and regulatory requirements as needed
  • Other tasks assigned

Requirements

  • CPA designation required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid understanding of accounting systems and financial workflows
  • Strong familiarity with IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Prior experience supporting Canadian and/or U.S.-based companies preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently
  • Experience working with US-based clients or firms
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments
