Triage and debug backend customer-facing issues that affect critical TextNow services.
Optimize production-level problem investigation and resolution.
Maintain and refactor full-stack production codebase written in GO, Ruby, and PHP. Optimize MySQL, RDS MariaDB, Elasticsearch and DynamoDB for storage efficiency and quick response time.
Participate in a rotating on-call responsible for uptime and critical functions of internal and external services.
Engage in incident postmortems to identify root causes and subsequent repair items.
Collaborate with a variety of business stakeholders to improve TextNow’s application and infrastructure.
Use monitoring tools like DataDog to identify system bottlenecks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Advise on application and system performance diagnostics and tuning using AWS managed services.
SALARY: $178,619 – $240,200 per year. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, & work location.
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
BONUS:Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus.

Minimum Requirements
Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Utilizing Golang, Ruby, and PHP; Supporting production API services deployed in the AWS Suite of Cloud services; and Partnering with various business verticals including support, engineering, and program management.
Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience with the following: Microservices, Cloud Computing, and API services; Automated CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD; Cloud services and containerization principles using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes; Applying design principles and methodologies for building scalable and high-performance backend components; Agile teams planning work with Jira; MariaDB, DynamoDB, and Redis; Managing code with Git SCM; and Building microservices deployed to Kubernetes, defining gRPC APIs, and building CI pipelines.
Telecommuting permitted up to 5 days a week, depending on business need.
Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 5%.
