Senior Accountant (AU Tax)- Work from Home

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support tax compliance, financial reporting, and client advisory services. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable/receivable, and assisting clients with tax planning and business structuring. Proficiency in Xero and strong knowledge of Australian tax law are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Tax & Compliance

• Assist in the preparation and lodgment of BAS, annual tax returns, and other compliance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Conduct tax planning and advisory services to optimize client financial positions.

Financial Management

• Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow management.
• Utilize Xero for bookkeeping, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

• Provide business structuring and financial strategy recommendations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, offering tax and financial advisory services.
• Collaborate with Chartered Accountants (CAs) for client-specific training and support.

Team Contribution

• Work towards managing a portfolio of clients with accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in team training sessions and contribute to a collaborative work culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in AU taxation and accounting.
• CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards certification).
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance regulations.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Warm, approachable personality with strong client service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
