We are hiring for a Director, Product Marketing, Wealth Management to partner with R&D and marketing leadership to accelerate the growth of our Wealth Management offering.
About the Role
In this role you will be expected to be a thought partner to senior Product and Investment Research leadership to develop the product’s value prop and our right to win in the category, develop the product narrative, building connected go-to-market strategies, identify growth opportunities, and work with a cross-functional team to develop and bring integrated marketing campaigns and iterative growth efforts to market. You'll bring your expertise in developing the right value proposition, positioning, messaging, channel strategy and growth plans that drive adoption and sustained growth and resonate with existing and prospective clients.
The opportunity. Wealthsimple is evolving from “Managed” into Wealth Management, a platform that helps passive investors choose the right approach as their needs become more complex. You’ll be accountable for building the GTM engine to support targets like: (1) upgrading hundreds of thousands of clients into Custom/Signature portfolios and scaling advice adoption; (2) Driving net deposits and cross-sold assets through a measurable, repeatable cross-sell engine; (3) Building category trust through clearer performance storytelling, education, and transparency
In this role you'll have the opportunity to:
Product scope: you will be responsible for marketing our portfolio line-up (Custom Portfolios, Signature Portfolios, Alternative Investments) and our personal advisor business (dedicated advice and on-demand advice).
Own the Wealth Management narrative and architecture: Define how Self-Directed Investing, Custom, Signature, and Advice fit together as a single investing journey; clarify who each tier is for and why Wealthsimple wins.
Lead positioning & messaging across a portfolio: Create the value prop, segmentation, and messaging system that powers product experiences, lifecycle marketing, brand storytelling, and sales/advisor motions.
Build the cross-sell + upgrade engine: Partner with Product Engagement Marketing, Product, and Data to identify intent signals, design upgrade paths, and run continuous experiments.
Drive launches and always-on GTM: Own GTM strategy for launches and major iterations, including channel strategy, creative direction, and comms plans.
Raise trust through performance & transparency: Shape how we measure and benchmark our marketing efforts performance
Be the market + client intelligence hub: Run client research and competitive intelligence (Canada + global best practices), translate insights into roadmap direction, and form conviction on what not to build.
Lead cross-functional operating rhythm: Create a tight cadence with Product, Investment Research, Growth, Brand, Comms, and Data — setting priorities, aligning stakeholders, and measuring impact.
Build and mentor a world-class PMM team: Set bar for craft, coaching, and execution excellence as the function scales.
What you'll bring:
10+ years in product marketing / GTM roles in technology-led organizations. Meaningful experience with investing, wealth and our finance products is a must.
8+ years owning PMM strategy end-to-end (segmentation, positioning, GTM, lifecycle), ideally across multi-product portfolios
Proven success driving measurable growth outcomes (e.g., upgrades, net deposits/AUM, conversion, retention) through experimentation and insight-led strategy
2+ years leading PMMs or cross-functional GTM workstreams; people management preferred, strong matrix leadership required
Experience partnering deeply with Product + Research/Investment teams (or equivalent) to influence roadmap and define “right to win”
Comfortable operating in regulated environments: you can make complex concepts simple, compliant, and human
High craft bar across narrative, messaging, and execution — you can set strategy and get into the work when needed
You’re a great cross-functional leader, but also love doing the work. You can hold your own with the leadership team, but also enjoy executing as an individual contributor as we grow the team and function
You have strong relationship building capabilities and the ability to work cross-functionally and build bridges between the marketing organization and the R&D organization. You connect dot that others often miss and thereby help marketing channel teams and the R&D org come together to make “1+1 = 3”
You have the ability to break down complex concepts so that they’re simple, clear, and human
You thrive in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards action
