Staff Platform Engineer

Are you ready to take a strategic and hands-on role in maintaining and evolving large-scale infrastructure for industry-leading analytics and UX solutions? We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to join our mission-critical team!
The Core Cloud team operates the core infrastructure and cloud services for Contentsquare, Heap, Hotjar and Loris. We operate the platform that powers the entire CSQ business, including Cloud account management, Private Virtual Cloud, Network, Kubernetes as a Service, VPN and tons of critical services. The challenge? Keeping this complex ecosystem simple to use, stable, scalable, and cost efficient while minimizing maintenance and support overhead.


Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership and Collaboration
  • Serve as a senior technical authority guiding infrastructure strategy, architecture, and best practices.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to design and build scalable, reliable, and maintainable platform solutions.
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

  • Platform Ownership and Innovation
  • Take ownership of platform services, ensuring uptime, performance, and efficiency across our internal customers' environments.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
  • Drive improvement projects to develop tools and solutions that reduce the toil of maintaining a complex platform, enabling more autonomous teams.

  • Operational Excellence
  • Define and implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response across managed services.
  • Maintain a strong focus on system resilience, fault tolerance, and automation.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement proactive solutions to recurring platform issues.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation
  • Build and maintain IaC frameworks (e.g., Crossplane, Terraform, Helm) to standardize and automate infrastructure deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reducing toil and improving platform reliability.
  • Develop tooling and frameworks for seamless management of Kafka, Aerospike, and other managed services.

  • Performance Monitoring and Metrics
  • Ensure comprehensive logging, metrics, and monitoring are available for teams to build actionable dashboards.
  • Optimize the platform’s performance and capacity planning.

  • Your Skills and Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure and platform services in cloud environments.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud ecosystems (AWS and/or Azure), including managed services (ECS, AKS, etc.).
  • Expertise in complex network projects, for large organizations,
  • Deep understanding of platform tools and cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Autoscalling, and Helm.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing scalable automation solutions to reduce platform maintenance overhead.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and mentoring technical teams.
