Recruiter

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Recruiter to join our team and help us find top-tier engineering talent. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week), working US business hours. You’ll work closely with our cofounders to source, screen, and recruit exceptional engineers for our fast-growing startup.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively source passive candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct initial screening calls to assess technical and cultural fit for backend-focused engineering roles. Assist with interview scheduling and coordination between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Lead salary negotiations, ensuring candidates understand the compensation structure.
  • Work to reduce time-to-hire by efficiently managing candidate pipelines.
  • Report on key recruitment metrics like time-to-fill, candidate pipeline, and overall experience to the cofounders.
  • Set clear expectations with candidates, providing a smooth, transparent, and engaging experience from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with cofounders to understand specific hiring needs, and develop recruiting strategies to fill engineering roles quickly.
  • Dedicate 50% of your time to sourcing candidates directly and managing inbound applicants.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Recruiter or Senior Recruiter, preferably in the tech/engineering industry.
  • Strong background in using LinkedIn, job boards, and other channels for passive candidate sourcing.
  • Familiarity with backend engineering roles (e.g., React, AWS, Python, Kubernetes) and assessing technical fit.
  • Comfortable with startup cultures and compensation packages that include equity alongside cash.
  • Ability to juggle multiple recruiting tasks efficiently within a part-time schedule.
  • Clear, professional communicator who can set expectations and provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Experience with salary negotiations and ensuring fair, attractive offers for candidates.
