Details:
- Location: European Union
- Contract type: freelance B2B
- Rate: €27-38/h (flexible, depending on experience)
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: ~6 months, possibility for extension
Requirements
Must-have:
- 5+ years working experience as a Data Engineer
- experience in regulated financial services environment as well as commercial facing experience
- experience in designing and developing robust Data Pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop ecosystem with a deep understanding of data processing
- strong background in cloud infrastructure (especially AWS) and hands-on experience of data lakes and modern data warehouses, including familiarity with orchestration, security, and network
- programming experience with Scala and Python
- knowledge of DBT (models, tests, documentation) and a general understanding of Tableau or similar BI tools
- experience working with relational databases, data warehouses and advanced SQL queries
- experience with CI/CD & bash scripting and deployment/release best practices
- experience with Docker and working knowledge of Kubernetes
- attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for data
- excellent command of written and spoken English (C1+)
Nice-to-have:
- excellent command of written and spoken Polish (C1+)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and scale our client's BI data infrastructure by developing and maintaining the data pipelines.
- Conduct data analysis experiments, providing bespoke solutions to the stakeholders giving them the information they need to succeed.
- Model data using solid data lake/warehouse concepts and optimize performance (partitioning, file formats, performance tuning).
- Implement least-privilege IAM, encryption, data classification, PII handling, and auditability and contribute to data governance policies.
- Collaborate with analysts and domain stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions, review code, and mentor peers.
- Continue our client's standards standards through data cleansing, coding consistency and data availability.
- Bring experiences and thoughts to the table.
