Lead Product Designer - Back-Office Platform

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to define the future of Midnite’s back office enablement platform. This is a rare opportunity to take a fragmented set of internal tools and transform them into a coherent, strategic system that becomes the backbone of how Midnite operates and how we deliver world-class experiences to our customers.

As an individual contributor with platform-level ownership, you will work closely with a Lead Product Manager, engineering partners and the squads whose work depends on internal tooling. You will set a long-term vision for the platform while shaping the hands-on design that brings clarity, structure and confidence to the teams who use it every day.

The impact reaches far beyond internal stakeholders. Strong enablement unlocks faster, safer and more innovative customer-facing products. As Midnite scales, the quality of our internal systems plays a direct role in the quality of our betting experience. Your work will influence thinking at the highest levels and help set new standards for how an industry built on outdated, legacy tooling can operate with far greater craft and ambition.

It is a role for someone who enjoys bringing order to complex spaces and who wants to shape the foundations of a platform with long-term reach. You will have the opportunity to reshape information architecture, define workflows and raise the bar for how internal product design is done at Midnite.

Salary: £125,000

Requirements

What you'll do

• Setting clear direction for the back-office platform and shaping how it evolves as Midnite grows.
• Partnering with product and engineering leads to frame problems, guide priorities and influence decisions that affect the platform and downstream customer experiences.
• Working with PMs and squads whose work touches internal tools, ensuring coherence across teams and strengthening design delivery.
• Designing intuitive, reliable interfaces and workflows for operational and compliance teams, raising the standard of craft and driving consistency across the platform.
• Bringing structure to complex systems, introducing the foundations and rituals that help teams make clear, confident design decisions at pace.
• Leading the design system for back-office enablement and collaborating with designers to shape its evolution and support future teams.
• Using AI tools and workflows to accelerate exploration, increase iteration speed and support faster delivery of high-quality internal tools.
• Championing the needs of internal users and ensuring their insights shape the platform in ways that improve the overall experience for our customers.

What we are looking for

• Experience owning a tool-oriented platform or large product area and setting a direction that guides multiple teams.
• Strong product judgement with the ability to work from desired outcomes and help teams focus on what matters most.
• Excellent hands-on craft across interaction, systems thinking and visual design, with a track record of delivering clear, dependable interfaces and workflows.
• Confidence partnering with product and engineering peers as equals and influencing decisions through clarity, insight and well-considered reasoning.
• Experience contributing to or leading design systems, with the ability to drive coherence across tools and domains.
• Curiosity and fluency with AI tools and workflows and a desire to use them to improve exploration, iteration and delivery.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous or complex business workflows and introduce structure, clarity and standards that raise the bar across teams.
• A collaborative communicator who values openness, inclusion and a supportive environment for partners and peers.
• A strong advocate for the internal teams who rely on our tools and for the customers whose experience is shaped by the quality and efficiency of our internal systems.
