About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Developer to guide our engineering team in building and maintaining enterprise-grade applications that make a real impact in the public safety and advocacy sectors.

This role combines technical excellence with leadership — you’ll mentor developers, architect scalable solutions, and ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing software across web and desktop platforms. Working closely with Product, QA, and UX teams, you’ll turn ideas into powerful solutions used daily by professionals who protect and serve their communities.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-grade applications using C# and .NET.
• Mentor and guide developers to improve code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Promote engineering best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Full Stack Development

• Develop responsive, modern web applications using React and Bootstrap 5.
• Enhance and maintain legacy WinForms and WPF desktop applications.
• Design and optimize SQL Server schemas, queries, and stored procedures.

Architecture & DevOps

• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and automate builds, testing, and deployments.
• Drive cloud deployments and infrastructure efficiency within Microsoft Azure.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable system architectures.

Testing & Quality

• Define and implement multi-layered testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E).
• Embed automated testing into deployment workflows and champion a TDD culture.
• Ensure high availability and performance through proactive monitoring and QA collaboration.

Collaboration & Customer Focus

• Partner closely with Product Management, QA, and UX teams to deliver on roadmap commitments.
• Engage directly with customers for product feedback, feature validation, and live demonstrations.
• Align technical delivery with user needs and organizational mission.

Continuous Improvement

• Encourage code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions to elevate team capability.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology innovation.
• Foster an environment of collaboration, learning, and accountability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with C#/.NET.
• Strong expertise with SQL Server, including query optimization and schema design.
• Proficient in ASP.NET (MVC or Razor Pages) and REST API development.
• Skilled in front-end frameworks like React and Bootstrap 5.
• Experience with WPF, WinForms, and MVVM architecture.
• Familiarity with Web Components, WebView2, and multimedia frameworks (e.g., Video.js, FFmpeg).
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure deployments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with security or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, CJIS, HIPAA).
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Application Insights).
• Experience in building or scaling mission-critical SaaS applications.
• Background working with government or public safety agencies.
