Position Summary: 

The Business Development Manager will lead the expansion of ZAPI Group’s charging solutions in the North American motive applications market. This role requires a compelling sales personality and a drive to chase and close new business. 

 

Specific Duties: 

  • Support a growth strategy that drives both financial success and customer satisfaction. 
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers. 
  • Actively expand the customer base and opportunities funnel. 
  • Identify new business opportunities, including markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services. 
  • Map current and future business strengths and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities. 
  • Track vertical industry market movements and trends. 
  • Report on successes and identify areas for improvement, fostering a culture of innovation. 
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing department on promotional strategy and activities. 
  • Coordinate with the other Zapi Group Business Development and Product Management teams to provide market-based input for product development. 
  • Other duties as required. 

Requirements

  • Education in Business, Marketing, or Engineering combined with 3-5 years of experience in business development within the automotive field or related industry, or a combination of relevant education and experience.  
  • Experience with batteries or battery chargers, including lead acid and lithium systems, or related products.
  • Experience introducing OEM customers to new products and technology.
  • Proven track record of executing partnership agreements that generate revenue and margin opportunities. 
  • Excellent public communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to travel frequently within North America and Internationally (25%-50% of the time).  
  • Strong priority setting skills. 
  • Proven collaborative and creative work style to develop solutions and winning strategies.

Benefits

On Target Earnings (OTE): $97,500 - $110,000

The compensation offered will be determined by experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
