A quick look at the role
The Enterprise Solutions Architect is responsible for defining the future architecture, applications, and technologies for the Biffa technology portfolio. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure that changes to our systems and new systems follow our technology roadmap and meet our requirements for scalability, security, and performance.
Working alongside the Enterprise Architect this role is a great opportunity for someone wishing to progress from a Solution Architect to an Enterprise Architect with the breadth of role to shape our application landscape at an Enterprise level.

Your core responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the strategic direction for technology solutions, aligning them with the Biffa's business goals and objectives.
- Partner with business segment leaders to support and deliver key technology priorities.
- Perform architecture and technology evaluations of new solutions and drive rationalization, re-use decisions.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for solution development, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Includes maintaining as-is architecture maps and documentation.
- Design and validate solutions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability, considering factors such as data volume, user load, and system availability.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers, assessing their capabilities, managing relationships, and ensuring their solutions integrate effectively with the organisation's ecosystem

Our essential requirements
- Experience in developing end state architecture, mapping architecture to business capabilities and creating a path to achieve the end state using industry standard frameworks
- Experience with managing the development of cloud-based applications and development of APIs, web services
- Experience working in a BAU continual improvement setting across a complex SaaS and legacy architecture
- Advanced knowledge and experience with the full software development lifecycle, with Agile and iterative development practices and associated tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps etc
- Biffa is a heavy user of Microsoft technology solutions, so knowledge and experience with Microsoft suite - F&O, D365 CRM, Power Apps would be highly beneficial
