At Vivara, a vibrant and independent startup in Barcelona, we are on the lookout for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our incredible team. Backed by GCO Ventures, Vivara is all set to transform the rental management industry and bring a wave of confidence and ease to the housing rental game.

Your role will be instrumental in shaping Vivara's unique ecosystem, dexterously navigating the world of apartment hunting, and making perfect matches between landlords and tenants. With a strong focus on tailoring our approach to individual needs, we are determined to create a delightful rental experience for everyone and become the preferred choice in the rental market.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for the system build and functionality of our platform, ensuring performance and scalability. 
 

What you will work on

  • Write efficient, reusable and self-documented code
  • Testing is in your mindset at any time (Units, acceptance…)
  • Developing new features following DDD and solid principles
  • Delivery is an essential part of our daily operations
  • Deployment code to the live (customer) environment
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers during team brainstorming sessions, participate actively in the decision-making process, and contribute to the development of architectural structures for new features

Node, Typescript, Vue, Cloud Hosting, GitHub, Docker, Firebase 

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in Backend Development with modern languages and frameworks (e.g., NestJS, NodeJS, TypeScript, JavaScript)
  • Proficient in cache systems, NoSQL (Redis preferred), SQL databases, and Git-based trunk development
  • Strong understanding of DDD/SOLID principles, data structures, and Big-O notation for code complexity
  • Experience with Docker, cloud hosting, and testing best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within agile, cross-functional teams, preferably in a startup environment
  • Product-focused mindset, identifying problems and crafting simple solutions
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
