As our Senior Manager, Payroll Services you will lead our Canadian Payroll Services team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for aligning local service delivery with global initiatives, driving operational excellence, and ensuring a consistently high-quality client experience at scale.
You’ll oversee day-to-day payroll operations and serve as a trusted advisor to both your team and cross-functional partners including Sales, Client Success, and others. With a strong focus on delivering a best-in-class managed payroll experience, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our offering in Canada.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative. You’ll bring a balance of people leadership, process discipline, and deep knowledge of Canadian payroll compliance—while contributing to a globally aligned, scalable strategy.
Your key focus areas will be:
- Translate global initiatives into actionable, localized execution plans for the Canadian market.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Managed Payroll team and service in Canada, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Drive scalable processes and best practices to support growth while maintaining service quality.
- Identify ways to improve team capacity
- Develop and track KPIs to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of payroll specialists and managers.
This will include:
- You will process payroll for a small portfolio of our managed clients ensuring timely communication, accurate payroll and benefit adjustments, ROE submissions and detailed reporting.
- Support resource planning, hiring, and capacity forecasting in line with business growth.
- Act as an escalation point for complex or high-impact client issues.
- Ensure adherence to Canadian payroll legislation and CRA requirements.
- Collaborate with global and local risk, compliance, and legal teams to mitigate risks and adapt to regulatory changes.
Who you are

- 5+ years of payroll experience
- 4+ years leadership experience
- Tech savvy and ability to pick up new platforms and software quickly
- Strong communication skills with a customer service mindset and team mindset
- Self starter with a resourceful attitude when problem solving and dealing with ambiguity, and working on tight timelines
- Analytical and strategic thinker who looks for opportunities and spearheads innovation that will drive better process improvements
- Completed post secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Payroll or other relevant areas
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and best practices (PCP or CPA designation is a plus).
- Experience working in a fast pace startup is an asset
