We are looking for a passionate and technically proficient Lead Engineering Manager to join our growing AI team. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), hands-on experience with PyTorch and Python, and a proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. As a Lead Engineering Manager, you won’t just manage – you will architect, code, and drive strategic initiatives while shaping the future of AI in our organization.

Requirements

What You'll Do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers and data scientists focused on building cutting-edge NLP solutions.
• Drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable NLP models using PyTorch and Python.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of complex AI/ML systems – from ideation and prototyping to production-grade deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, researchers, and data engineers to align on business goals and technical feasibility.
• Conduct design and code reviews, ensure high coding standards, and guide architectural decisions.
• Keep abreast of the latest research in NLP, transformer models, LLMs, and AI, and translate academic advancements into real-world applications.
• Optimize models for performance, scalability, and latency in production environments.
• Help define and refine the AI roadmap, contributing to the long-term vision of the AI products and platforms.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 9 years of experience in software engineering with at least 4+ years of hands-on NLP and deep learning experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with expertise in PyTorch and familiarity with modern ML libraries and frameworks.
• Solid experience building and scaling NLP systems such as named entity recognition (NER), sentiment analysis, summarization, and question answering.
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams, driving delivery, and mentoring team members.
• Strong understanding of modern machine learning techniques, particularly around transformers, language modeling, and deep learning.
• Experience in deploying ML models into production environments with performance monitoring and model management.
• Excellent communication skills – capable of translating technical complexities into business language and vice versa.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with large language models (LLMs) like GPT, BERT, or T5.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Contribution to open-source projects or research publications in NLP.
